Leaving

Leaving
It was always my heart’s only dream
Books spread out across timelines, on the library floor
Glittering adventures called me by name

Dreaming
The magical world was wide open, I’d see
Pretty face, head up in the clouds
Frightening realities whispered forcefully to me

Screaming
My heart shattered through time and space
Dreams discarded, rejected, all fractured afar
Complacence tried moulding my soul in the dark

Reaching
Somehow the light still sparkles brightly inside
A radiant blueprint of angelic memories remain
Divine mirror, unavoidably, my journey remembered

Leaving
My heart aching, fearfully free, leaping excitedly
A dream come full circle, finally realising who I can be
Glimmering adventure stories being written by me
